Malnutrition, dehydration and poor oral health are common diagnoses in long term care settings and have been shown to be associated with dysphagia. It is important for clinicians to be able to recognize these risk factors and work with the interprofessional team in order to manage residents in a comprehensive manner. In this session, clinicians will learn about the risks of dysphagia for residents of long-term care and review the most up-to-date research on the management of dysphagia in older adults.
